Disability Advocacy Finder
The Disability Advocacy Finder is a tool made available by the Department of Social Services (DSS) for the purposes of listing the contact details and locations of disability advocacy agencies. Organisations included on the Disability Advocacy Finder are ones that receive funding from the Commonwealth or a state or territory government to provide advocacy under individual or systemic models of advocacy. DSS may extend this to self-funded providers in future. DSS accepts no responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of any material included on the Disability Advocacy Finder.

Imagine YOU can see improvement in less than three lessons into your Dog Training Program and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg either.
Most of my clients, regardless of age, size or breed of their dog(s) saw a substantial change in their dog, after a few lessons. Working with sentient beings (both dog and human), I make it a priority to get my clients lasting results by teaching simple habits that bring around the best level of success possible for all those involved.

Legal / Legislative

Guardianship / Administration
If an adult is not able to make sensible decisions about their finances or lifestyle, or is doing things that are not in their best interests, it may be possible for the State Administrative Tribunal (the SAT) to appoint a guardian or administrator (or both) to make decisions for them.

Disputes with the NDIS
If you have a dispute with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) about a decision they have made, you may be able to apply to have the decision reviewed.
You may be able to apply to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to conduct an internal review of a decision, for example, where you have been declined access to join the scheme, or where you have been declined a support in your plan.
If this is unsuccessful, you may be able to appeal the decision to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
You may be able to access two types of support to assist with your dispute with the NDIS:
- a disability advocate who acts as a support person, and Legal Aid WA’s NDIS Legal Assistance Service.

Appeals NDIS
NDIS Appeals Supports
NDIS Appeals has been set up to ensure that people with disability, and other people affected by reviewable decisions of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), have access to support when seeking review of those decisions in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
There are two types of supports available via NDIS Appeals:
access to a skilled disability advocate who acts as a support person, and
access to funding for legal services, where there is wider community benefit and/or disadvantage that would substantially benefit from legal representation.

NDIS Consumer Rights
If you are purchasing, leasing or hiring assistive technology (AT), or arranging for the repair or maintenance of your AT, it is important you are aware of your rights as a consumer.

Not all of these laws are in place when you buying something privately, such as from a friend, garage sale or someone selling an item they’ve owned.
